Introduction
You can permanently delete your Carely account and all associated data at any time. There are two equally valid methods: directly in the app, or by email.
Carely has two roles: the anonymous Patient account and the registered Caregiver account. The instructions below apply mainly to the Caregiver account and the data associated with a linked Patient account.
Method 1: In the app (fastest)
- Open the Carely app and go to the home screen.
- Tap your profile.
- Scroll to the bottom — “Delete account” is the second-to-last option.
- Tap “Delete account” and wait about 10 seconds.
- Confirm the deletion. Your account and associated data are erased.
Method 2: Email (if you can’t access the app)
If you can’t sign in to the app, send an email to support@usecarely.com from the address linked to your account, with the subject “Account deletion request”.
We handle the request in line with Article 17 of the GDPR (the right to erasure — the “right to be forgotten”) within one month of receiving it at the latest.
What data is deleted
- Caregiver sign-in data: email address and authentication credentials.
- Profile data and preferences: onboarding answers, notification settings.
- Medication data and dose history associated with a linked Patient account.
- Links between accounts: invitation codes and sharing relationships.
- Subscription status stored on our side.
Data retention
After you delete your account, we erase personal data without undue delay, subject to obligations under applicable law. Anonymous analytics data (PostHog) and error data (Sentry) are retained according to those providers’ policies and do not allow you to be identified.
Note: cancel your Premium subscription separately in your App Store or Google Play settings — deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
